Best dental clinic in Bangkok: SmileBox, and the six others worth knowing

Bangkok has no shortage of good dentists. What it has is a shortage of clinics where you can see the price before you sit in the chair, get a specialist for the specialist part of the job, and still be treated like a person rather than a case number. That narrow overlap is where SmileBox Dental Clinic lives, and it is why it sits at the top of this list.

I compared seven clinics that keep showing up when expats, dental tourists and Bangkok families ask who to trust: SmileBox, BIDC, Thantakit, Bangkok Smile, BIDH, Smile Signature and Bangkok Dental Spa. Every price below comes from the clinic’s own published fee page as of October 2026. Ratings are the clinics’ Google Maps scores on the same date.

SmileBox opened in 2021, which makes it the youngest clinic here by a long way. Brothers Dr. Vishesh Bhatia and Dr. Vikram Bhatia, both alumni of NIST International School in Bangkok, built it around one stubborn idea: tell people what the treatment is, what it costs and how to look after it, before anything starts. Five years on there are two branches, a Thonglor flagship on Sukhumvit Road between BTS Thonglor and Ekamai, and a Riverside branch on Ratchapruek in Taling Chan. Both open every day from 10am to 8pm.

Why it ranks first

Start with the numbers that are hard to fake. The Thonglor branch holds a 4.9 Google rating from 788 reviews. Invisalign has named SmileBox a Platinum Elite provider, a tier you only reach by treating a lot of aligner cases. It is SHA Plus certified, and Bookimed lists it as an official Straumann implant provider. Third-party roundups have started to notice too: Dentaltown’s 2026 guide for international patients includes it as the modern, tech-forward pick.

The bigger reason is how the work gets divided. SmileBox does not hand your whole mouth to one generalist. Implants go to an implantologist (Dr. Palawat Laoharungpisit), crowns and dentures to a prosthodontist (Dr. Vishal Sehgal), surgery to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon (Dr. Suphachai Suphangul), root canals to an endodontist (Dr. Avirut Truntipakorn), and children to a paediatric dentist (Dr. Anchalee Kulongkananon). One recent implant patient wrote on Google that what impressed him most was exactly that: separate specialists for the cleaning, the anaesthesia and the surgery, with Dr. Vishesh walking him through each stage first.

Then there is the price list. SmileBox publishes hundreds of line items, from a ฿150 anaesthetic cartridge to a ฿550,000 All-on-6. Even among Bangkok clinics that publish fees, few go this granular. You can price a Megagen implant with crown (฿38,000), a Neodent (฿55,000) or a Straumann (฿74,000) before you book, and that choice of three implant tiers is something the bigger groups rarely lay out so plainly.

The patient experience

SmileBox says it was the first clinic in Thailand to put patients in virtual reality headsets during treatment, which sounds like a gimmick until you read the reviews from people who had avoided dentists for years. A long-time Thonglor patient who has since moved across the city still makes the trip back, and rates it above the dentist he used in the US for three decades. Another reviewer came in to redo veneers she had paid for at home and said the new set finally looked like her own teeth.

For overseas patients there are Google Meet consultations before you fly, airport transfers, partner hotels including the Ascott Thonglor a four-minute walk away, and staff who work in English, Thai, Chinese, Japanese and Arabic. Residents can spread larger bills over interest-free instalments, and the team fills in insurance claim forms.

The clinic is also, by some distance, Bangkok’s most-watched dental practice. Its doctors’ TikTok accounts carry close to a million followers between them and #SmileBoxClinic has passed 200 million views. That reach matters less than what it shows: these dentists explain their work in public, every day, and that habit carries into the consult room.

Children: the airway programme

Most clinics on this list will treat a child. SmileBox runs a structured jaw and airway development programme for kids, built on myofunctional therapy, with courses from ฿26,900, plus Invisalign First for younger patients. For parents worried about mouth-breathing or crowding, it is the most considered children’s offer in this group.

Worth knowing before you book

SmileBox charges ฿500 for an initial exam, where BIDC, BIDH and Smile Signature advertise free check-ups. In-clinic Zoom whitening is listed at ฿12,000 on the homepage and ฿15,000 on the full fee table, both above the chains’ current promotions, so ask which applies. And the Riverside branch is a long way west of Sukhumvit; most visitors will want Thonglor. None of that changes the ranking. Where SmileBox is priced above the field it is usually on cosmetic extras, and on implants, where the money really adds up, it is often the cheaper option. Its entry aligner package is also the lowest listed here.

Six other clinics worth knowing

Every clinic below is a good clinic. Each is strong in one direction, and none puts the whole package together the way SmileBox does.

Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC)

Google rating: 4.8 (1,848) · Instagram: @bangkokdental

BIDC is the institution. It became Thailand’s first JCI-accredited dental centre in 2012, runs a seven-storey building on Ratchadaphisek with its own lab and a boutique hotel, and lists more than 70 dentists. If a paper trail of accreditations is what lets you sleep, it is hard to beat. Prices are itemised and fixed, although a ฿150 to ฿250 sterilisation and nursing fee is added to each visit, and the Ratchada location is a taxi or MRT ride from Sukhumvit. The scale that gives it credibility also makes it feel more like a hospital than a clinic you get to know.

Best for: Patients who want hospital-style accreditation behind every step

Thantakit International Dental Center

Google rating: 4.9 (3,164) · Instagram: @thantakitdentalcenter

Thantakit has been fixing teeth since 1945 and is now run by the founding family’s third generation. It introduced implant surgery to Thailand in 1973, runs an in-house CAD/CAM lab, and collects you from your hotel for free (except Sundays). The track record is real and so is the Google following. Pricing sits at the upper end: a single DIO implant with zirconia crown is ฿65,000 and the Straumann version ฿90,000, and the consultation is ฿1,000 to ฿2,000. The head office on New Petchburi Road is solid rather than central.

Best for: Patients who value an 80-year family name and free hotel transfers

Bangkok Smile Dental Clinic

Google rating: 4.8 (778, Nana) · Instagram: @bangkoksmile_dentalclinic

Operating since 2003, Bangkok Smile has an exclusive partnership with Dr. Paulo Malo, the dentist behind the All-on-4 concept, and works with Nobel Biocare implants. It is built for dental tourists from Australia, New Zealand and Europe. The Sukhumvit 5 (Nana) branch is the one with the reviews; quality is reported to vary between its many branches, so pick your branch as carefully as you pick the clinic. Its current All-on-4 promotion is listed in US dollars at $7,941, with a single implant at $1,618.

Best for: Full-arch patients who want the MALO All-on-4 protocol

Bangkok International Dental Hospital (BIDH)

Google rating: 4.3 (228) · Instagram: @dentalhospitalthailand

BIDH is a licensed dental hospital on Sukhumvit Soi 2, run by the same group as BIDC. It has an operating theatre, a recovery unit and in-patient rooms, which matters if you need wisdom teeth out under general anaesthesia or a full-jaw case done asleep. Check-ups are free, but a ฿200 to ฿300 nursing and sterilisation charge applies per visit, and its Google score is the lowest in this group; at least one recent reviewer faulted the front desk rather than the dentistry.

Best for: Surgery under IV sedation or general anaesthesia

Smile Signature Dental Clinics

Google rating: 4.8 (710, Siam Square) · Instagram: @smilesignature

Smile Signature is a chain of nine-plus clinics across Bangkok, with branches opposite MBK at Siam Square and in Asok. Check-ups are free, a filling surface is ฿1,000, eMax veneers are ฿13,000 to ฿14,000 and Zoom whitening ฿8,900. For a cleaning or a filling it is good value. Several of its outlying branches are affiliate clinics rather than company-run, so experience can differ from one location to the next.

Best for: Budget-minded routine care close to the BTS

Bangkok Dental Spa

Google rating: 4.7 (235) · Instagram: @bangkokdentalspa

Founded in 2004 by Dr. Lily, Bangkok Dental Spa calls itself Asia’s first dental spa, and its patients are fiercely loyal to her personally. It is a small clinic on Sukhumvit Soi 19, two minutes from BTS Asok, closed on Sundays. Its online price list is short: porcelain veneers from ฿15,000 and whitening with cleaning from ฿8,000 to ฿12,000, with most other work quoted case by case.

Best for: Patients who want the same dentist every time

What Bangkok expats actually say

Read enough expat threads and the same names come back. On ask.in.th’s Sukhumvit dentist thread, people recommend BIDC, Thantakit and the Soi 5 branch of Bangkok Smile. A 119-reply thread on implants and bridges started because Bumrungrad felt too expensive, and the answers scatter across a dozen clinics. Older posts on expat.com mention Dr. Lily on Soi 19 and Thantakit by name.

SmileBox appears less in those older threads, simply because it did not exist when most of them were written. Where it does show up is where newer patients actually look: 788 Google reviews averaging 4.9, a place in Dentaltown’s 2026 roundup, verified patient reviews on Bookimed, and a daily stream of explainers on TikTok and YouTube. For a broader expat view of costs, Pacific Prime’s guide is a useful cross-check.

How I'd choose

For aligners, veneers, implants, a nervous first visit, or a child with a crowded mouth, I’d book SmileBox in Thonglor and not overthink it. You get a named specialist for each step, a price you have already seen, and a clinic open seven days a week.

If an accreditation certificate is what you need to see, go to BIDC. If you want to be asleep for surgery, BIDH has the theatre for it. Committed to the MALO All-on-4 protocol specifically? Bangkok Smile’s Nana branch. A scale-and-polish on a budget near Siam is Smile Signature territory, and Dr. Lily’s regulars will keep going to Soi 19 whatever any list says.
